I'm a Lisbon based producer and sound designer with a tendency towards experimentation whether it is under an IDM , Ambient , Techno , Breaks or Electro hat .

My first contact with music making came at a relatively young age. As a child I would experiment with a pair of cassette recorders and one guitar , trying to somehow construct acoustic guitar tracks . Awful sounds , great times ! The acoustic guitars evolved to an electric guitar and an effects pedal and during my teens I played with friends for fun - mostly grunge and punk .

Computers were really crappy while I was growing up compared to the power beasts of today . Back then I explored the world of MIDI and I guess that was my real first introduction to software music composition .

As the 90s started to unveil , electronic music slowly began to take over my attention with the amazing explosion of talent witnessed in various music fields and the burst of genres such as Drum & Bass and IDM . I got hooked . Fast . I wanted to know more about how could someone make such music and about where were all these incredible sounds coming from.

The sonic range present in electronic music , the myriad of textures , noises and unheard possibilities of shaping waveforms is what really grabbed me . The way synthetic sounds can be so human and the way music made on cold machines could convey so many emotions .

My first piece of hardware was the Roland MC-505 , which had a good run producing mainly Ambient and Drum & Bass tracks . After that the world of computer music sky rocketed . Systems got faster , soft-synths got better and vsts plugins allowed for incredible creative freedom and flexibility without burning holes in my pockets .

I started studying more about music synthesis and began creating my own VST synths .Most of them are too extreme or unstable to share but I might post some of them up if I feel they are useful to others . Alongside came my passion for drum and sound programming and the result is music that , being influenced by a wide array of artists, is an unusual hybrid of genres, with elements of IDM, electro, breaks , techno , electronica , ambient , dnb or experimental all shining through.
